TREASURE TREK 2009 WRAP UP
Get Geared UP For Treasure Trek!
Treasure Trek is in the planning stages but ads but ads are beginning to show up on our website. The earlier that people place ads the sooner the people navigating the worldwide web can plan their trip to our area on June 11th and 12th of 2010. You can list your ad until December 31, 2010 for a minimal fee.
The website also has banner ads for businesses and groups to market.
This promises to be a greater year in the Alliance area with Dobby’s Frontier Town planning special events, a flea market at the YMCA and many other things to draw people in.

The committee is working at getting other communities to join in the event with innovative ideas again.
Last year proved successful in Alliance with several businesses placing ads as well as individuals. If you want to list your items and market them for a bargain price this is the way to do it.
This year advertisers can have their sales on both days or choose Friday or Saturday which will allow more people to utilize the site.
If you would like to help plan the “Trek” please join us at our next committee meeting. For more information please contact: Alliance Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 571, 111 West 3rd Street, Alliance, NE 69301, Ph 308.762.1520, Fax 308.762.4919, director@bbc.net.

Press Release -- July 1, 2009
TREASURE TREK 2009 WRAP UP
By all accounts Treasure Trek 2009 was very successful in Alliance. We would love to have some feed back from the other participating communities. Please contact us at editor@treasuretrekne.com or call 308-762-1520 and ask for Dixie.
Next year we invite all of the towns in the panhandle to consider doing a town wide sale on the weekend of the Trek. In order to make this more agreeable to everyone we are relaxing our rules and you can do a 1 or 2 day sale. You can also do both. For towns who have their town wide sales just 1 day of the weekend this should work out well for you. The more towns that participate, the more people we will attract.
Consider this: our website had 1,272 visits from 147 cities across the country just in the month leading up to the event.* There were many more visits in previous months.
We plan on advertising early so people can plan their trips accordingly. What we need is a person or persons in every community to organize their part of the Trek. The committee in Alliance will offer any help possible and will do whatever is necessary to help those in each participating town. It's such a large area that we need people who are already in the locations to help sign up people for sales and organize whatever else you might want to happen in your communities to attract visitors. For more information on exactly what we need, once again contact us at the above email or call us.

The whole idea behind this event is to attract attention and dollars to the Panhandle of Nebraska. Please consider joining us in this effort. Not only did we have folks from other parts of Nebraska but we saw people from several other states including some as far away as California! It was calculated that 17-20 % of the attendees were from other places.
It's a great way to meet new people, show them our hospitality and make some money for yourselves or your organizations. One participant reported making a whopping $1,400.00! That's no small change. Speaking of money, our ads are very inexpensive and reach the World Wide Web. So, we would like everyone to start thinking about and planning for Treasure Trek 2010. It's sooner than you think.
* Webmasters note: We do not track all pages individually. For the period May 12 through June 11 -- 1565 visits resulted in 12,118 page views on the pages that we track individually. Total page requests were 92,066 for May and June combined.
Two participating communities, Chadron and Alliance, held drawings. The winners in Alliance were Gail Burke of Alliance, NE and Nancy Prime of Gering, NE.
In Chadron Tara Krell of Chadron, NE
and JoAnne Rose of Chadron, NE had the winning entries. Check the Alliance and Chadron pages to find out more about the drawings see what they won.
Please drop in and say Thank You to our sponsors.
