Press Release -- January 4, 2009
Treasure Trek Re-Organizes for 2009!

The Treasure Trek Committee met on Sunday, January 4th and is reorganizing the approach to Treasure Trek for 2009. The group elected new officers with Darcy Leistritz and Diana Dobry serving as Co-Chairs, Sharon Woods is Treasurer, Jack Andersen is Webmaster, and Dixie Nelson is Secretary. As always, the group is looking for volunteers to help with the project. This is especially true for communities other than Alliance.

The committee is devoting its resources to developing and marketing the event using the website and flyers. The website has been successful in attracting interest from other states and the eastern part of Nebraska which is the objective of the event.

A fresh perspective of the event is being taken with the Trek scheduled for June 12 & 13th which is a Friday and Saturday. The time frame is new as the event has taken place in September the past 2 years. Communities or citizens in other towns that want to participate need to contact the Treasure Trek Committee as soon as possible as there is not much time between now and June to make arrangements.

This the year the group will not have a hard copy of the listings of garage sales and flea markets. The listing will be available on the website: treasuretrekne.com. If a person wants a listing and does not have a computer and printer the Committee will print the list and mail it for a nominal fee.
